History of Photo Finish™ LIVE

PFP Collection

The Photo Finish PFP Collection is a 15,008-count merged collection of all Photo Finish™ LIVE cartoon horse profile pictures – from the Stylish Studs (10,000), Marvelous Mares (5,000) and Spooky Studs (8) collections.

Stylish Studs was the debut Photo Finish™ LIVE digital asset.

Holders of the Stylish Studs had a 1/4 chance PER STUD of being airdropped their female counterparts – the Fine Fillies. Half the supply of Fine Fillies was successfully airdropped to Stud holders in 2021; the other half was minted at 1.2 SOL per.

The Stylish Studs and Fine Filly PFPs were bred together to create the Generation Zero in-game racehorses, providing the bloodline foundation for Photo Finish™ LIVE. Stylish Studs could breed as many times as their owners desired, while Fine Fillies could breed a single time. Once bred, the Fine Filly became a Marvelous Mare.

The infamous Fib Newton, Stud #3483

The Stylish Studs were minted on Sept 26, 2021, selling out over an hour. Legend has it that what started as a slow mint became a frantic sellout mint after Sol Big Brain brought the SOL NFT space’s attention to the project.

Stylish Studs could breed with as many Fine Fillies as their owners wished. Once the PFP breeding window opened, the Studs NFTs gained another trait – the number of times they were bred.

Fine Fillies/Marvelous Mares

The Fine Fillies were the female counterpart to the Stylish Studs; their supply was 1/2 of the Studs supply (5k vs. the 10k Studs collection).

Holders of the Stylish Studs had a 1/4 chance PER STUD of being airdropped their female counterparts – the Fine Fillies. Half the supply of Fine Fillies was successfully airdropped to Stud holders on X day 2021; the other half was minted at 1.2 SOL per.

Fine Fillies bred with Stylish Studs, producing a Generation Zero racehorse ticket and converting the Filly to Mare status (as denoted by the above ‘MM’ plaque in the background of the NFT).

After the breeding window closed – ALL Fillies were converted to Mares. Today, only Marvelous Mares remain. Fine Fillies were able to produce ONE ticket each.

Spooky Studs are a collection of 8 different Halloween-themed PFPs. They don’t possess the utility that Stylish Studs have and thus couldn’t breed to create Generation Zero tickets.

Even so, due to the way that $CROWN is distributed according to overall collection rarity, Spooky Studs – because of their rarity relative to the rest of the PFP collection – earn the most possible $CROWN per month from the 50% PFP allocation.

Generation Zero Tickets

NOTE: As of Season 9, redeemed Generation Zero tickets will produce an already retired horse. These horses are eligible to breed but may no longer race.

Each ticket is redeemable for a Generation Zero in-game racehorse.

Generation Zero racehorse tickets are the offspring of the Studs and Fillies. They are essentially a coupon that can be redeemed for an NFT racehorse in Photo Finish ™ LIVE. Generation Zero refers to the fact that they are the first generation of racehorses to enter the ecosystem, setting the foundations for all future bloodlines.

Each ticket has a spread of Attributes and Preferences (link) based on the combination of Stud and Filly traits used to produce them. Generally – the rarer the combination of traits, the higher the grade of the offspring ticket.

Additionally, the PFP sires and dams used to create the tickets possessed traits in common between sexes – the more of these traits that matched (up to a perfect 5/5 trait match), the more bonus points the offspring received for their Attributes and Preferences.

An early version of the Breeding Tool – Note the ‘Matches’ field.

Attributes and Preferences both have a 3 unit max to boosting. This means within a grade – every Attribute (Start, Speed, Stam, etc.) on a ticket is between 0 and 3, likewise for Preferences.
