Welcome to Season 25! 

It’s a bittersweet season as we celebrate the debut of a new crop of horses, but also bid farewell to a generation of horses that started it all. 

From Gen 0 horses riding off into the big pasture in the sky to a brand new leaderboard, Season 25 brings some changes you won’t want to miss. 

Let’s break it all down with a quick summary of everything you need to know. 

Wagering Updates

  • Races Every 15 Minutes: Players can place picks on races running every 15 minutes, with 10% of the win pool contributing to purse subsidies.
  • Picks Leaderboard — Batting Average Style:
    • Track your success rate with Win bets across three different pick levels.
    • Top 5 payouts for the highest win percentages at each level.
    • Sponsored by BlockBet!
      • 50 races bet level
      • 250 races bet level
      • 500 races bet level
    • Players can win multiple levels.
  • Road to the Kentucky Derby Competition:
    • Each VKD Qualifying race includes at least 400 Derby in pick juice per horse entered.
    • Leaderboard will be manually updated.
    • The player with the highest net winnings from Road to the Kentucky Derby bets will win a horse (view horse here) and the prestigious Discord role of “PICK CHAMPION.”
    • Additional prizes may be added.

Lineage Cup Debuts

Rewarding the stables that invested in premium breeding:

  • Premier Events:
    • 8,000 Crown prize pool per event.
    • Horses bred for 24k Derby or more qualify.
  • Undercard Events:
    • 2,500 Crown prize pool per event.
    • Horses bred for 8k Derby or more qualify.
  • Selection Criteria:
    • L28 winnings combined with breed price qualification.
  • Eligibility: Only available to horses aged 4 and older.
  • Schedule: Occurs on the final Sunday of the season.

A-/A Series Changes

To encourage greater participation:

  • Stakes racing for A and A- horses is now C- to A 
  • Juvenile and 3+ grade-restricted series qualifiers will use the same C-/A weighted races as the finale, promoting larger fields and more inclusive opportunities.
  • Prize pools for these races are now paid out in $Crown instead of Derby, mirroring previous A pools.

Leaderboard Changes

The leaderboard system has been revamped for expanded payout categories:

  • New Leaderboards:
    • Graded Races (G1/2/3)
    • Grade-Restricted Races
    • Benchmark Races
  • Payouts:
    • Graded Racing (20 spots) — $200 per spot
    • Grade Restricted (30 spots) — $150 per spot
    • Allowances (30 spots) — $100 per spot
    • Benchmarks (30 spots) — $100 per spot
    • Claimers (50 spots) — $100 per spot
  • Payment: All leaderboard payouts are in $Crown, tied to USD pricing when processed.
  • Tiebreakers: Final spots with ties will split the prize.

  • No Cube Series this season.
  • No Enduro Cup this season.
  • No Benchmark Undercards for Majors this season.
